Bangkok Entry I
Originally, Ben, Dillon and I were supposed to go for the Bangkok Getaway. As fate would have it, Dillon’s grandmother fell ill culminating in her demise just a day before the trip was to have commenced. Hence, Dillon had to stay behind and his trip postponed to September.
Anne, Ben, Scott and I went for the wake on the evening of Wednesday in spite of Dillon’s insistence that we should just spend the time packing our stuffs.
This time round, I told Anne not to hold back anything when she met Scott. Fair enough, she did not. Empress Anne met Auntie Anne (Ben’s Mum). Not to mention, Her Royal Majesty scared the shit out of Auntie Anne’s Chihuahua. Heh.
I think wakes which has Ben and I as its attendees are never a solemn affair. It was only about 2 months ago that Dillon’s Grandad passed away. We laughed out hearts out bitching rather than being erh, sad and solemn? This time round, it was no different.
We forgot to warn Scott to be nice and courteous towards Anne.
The topic came to how to select the BEST fake LV product as possible. And Scott went on,
‘’ If I look at Anne, she just appear as a Chinese PRC to me. So her LV wallet in front of her might as well appear fake…….’’
Goodness gracious. And that was only the first time Scott met my dear Anne. Needless to say, the other guys were trying our dardnest best to stifle our laughter. And Anne, very classic, ignored him and continued concentrating on her melon seed. A case of plunging straight to test the depths of the Pacific Ocean.
I bunked in at Ben’s house with the attention of taking the first bus and the first train. But well, we ended up taking the first taxi instead (after the midnight surcharge time frame ended).
Reached the airport rather early. Met up with Bernard too who came to sent off Jason and Jeff. How very nice of him I must say. Then again, he was sending off those two buggers but not me! Ass.

I swore that I will never take a budget airplane anymore. It was so downright uncomfortable. Can neither sleep nor sit properly. Tsk.

Touched down at Bangkok International Airport at around 11am and we took the cab service there which cost about 6-700 baht (the cab return cab from hotel to airport actually cost less than that!). It was a safe ride though. And I marveled at how advanced Bangkok is now. Our cab was a Toyota Camry. Almost all the other cabs on the road was an Altis!
PJ Watergate. That is the name of our hotel. A small hotel situated right in the middle of erh, a slum area of Bangkok? But neighboured by other big hotels. Hehe.

Was quite a central location because it was just a stone’s throw away from Pratunam Market.
Checked-in and headed out straight to Pratunam Market before we decided to go to Mah Boo Khrong (MBK). Took a tuk-tuk.
And boy were we swindled. A 10 minute drive stretched to about more than an hr. The bloody driver I suspect is under some incentive to drive us to 2 big Gem Stores. So pissed with Ben since it was him who was talking to that driver. Yet, to be honest, it wasn’t his fault. Haha he was quite sad being under constant barrage and torments from us though.
Took our meal upon reaching MBK before we shopped around and ‘test water’. The electronics there are relatively cheaper and we can still bargain with them. Not bad at all.
Jason and Jeff went to Hard Rock while Ben and I explored Silom which is very near MBK and marveled at all the nice shops and stuffs there. That place is so cool!
We headed out to Patpong after that with some cheeky intentions in mind. But it was not to come to fruition on our first night. Explored almost all the nook and cranny of that place and like I’ve said, God work in mysterious ways, We still did not come across what we were looking for.
The guys were so pissed that the prostitutes Boss only approached me but not them. Haha.
Had a nice cosy Thai cuisine for our meal and their tom yum Koong was seriously the best we ever tasted.
